''-Kept the conversation practically 100% in Spanish. If I didn't know a word or phrase, Lourdes would re-explain with different Spanish words rather than automatically translating to English.
-Kept the conversation flowing nicely- there was never a dull moment and we talked about things that were relevant!
-Good balance of correcting my mistakes and also not over correcting.
-Lourdes always came prepared with fun talking points and reading assignments'' Aug 04 2016 ''Edgar was very good at building connections and making the conversation interesting which mad e the spanish itself more interesting.'' Jul 20 2016 ''Teach'' Jul 12 2016 ''She did a great job making me feel comfortable with speaking and helping me to understand the concepts behind the language (for my level). Great teacher!'' Jun 27 2016 ''Mariana was very patient, easy going & made the session fun'' Jun 12 2016 ''I have a problem with question 15 "rate this tutor in comparison to other Spanish tutors you have / have had in the past" because I have had several very good tutors, so I find it doing them a disservice to compare them to each other when I was overall very happy with them. Alice was good at providing colloquial phrasing recommendations to make my speech sound more authentic/conversational.'' May 17 2016 ''One thing very helpful for me was her ability to converse at a level that I could understand and actively participate. She used words and concepts from the curriculum, and challenged me the [*] amount so that I felt like “I’m getting it”, gained confidence, and became more encouraged. She corrected my errors, but constructively and positively. She blended the course material with cultural experiences which kept it lively and relevant. It was clear that she enjoys teaching and takes an interest in her students.'' Apr 21 2016 ''She did a great job of motivating me and enabling me to learn at a rapid pace.'' Mar 12 2016 ''she was able to talk about colloquial Spanish expressions that people do use regularly in different Spanish speaking countries'' Mar 11 2016 ''My tutor was very easy to talk to and did a good job of using the verb forms or vocab that we were working on through out all of our conversations.'' Feb 28 2016 ''Provide coloquial explanations, provide tips for learning, noted [*] curriculum needed to be updated/corrected
I should also clarify that I don't like rating the tutor compared to others because I have had other very good tutors. Saying that she is the same as others isn't a bad thing if being compared to other excellent tutors!'' Feb 24 2016 ''Lourdes comes prepared to class and always on time, she was flexible to changing days when I had conflicts.
She makes it easier to remember vocabulary and understand the grammar rules and also how to pronounce words.
The sessions are always interactive and the fact that the whole session is in spanish makes it so much better.
I would like to continue studying with her!'' Dec 21 2015 ''She was always prepared and very attentive to each student's needs. Being this the first level of learning, she was very patient with us and encouraged us to practice, even when I'm wasn't confident at first!''
